UFC GYM PERIMETER – IT’S HERE ATLANTA

Disclosure: Though this is a sponsored post, all opinions shared are my own.  UFC Gym Perimeter invited me to partake in the Gym experience and in this post I am sharing my thoughts about that experience, the gym, and the people I met.

 

FADS COME AND GO BUT RESULTS STICK

As with almost everything in life, fitness is not immune to fads.  Fads come and fads go, but when fads result in an 800-1,000 calorie-burn per hour they seem to stick around….and that’s exactly what the UFC Gyms can do for the Atlanta community – stick around while giving us all results.

From good-ol’-fashioned weight training, to state-of-the-art-cardio equipment, to punching bags for everyone and their mothers too, to mixed martial arts classes the likes of boxing, kickboxing, jujitsu and any other form of butt-kicking you can think of, UFC Gym Perimeter has it all and then some.  Yeah, they have everything a big gym has and more…but it’s all about the “and then some.”

You see, fads come and fads go, but results that stick with an extra “and then some”, seem to stay for good!  And that’s why I believe the new UFC Gym Perimeter is only the beginning for UFC Gyms in the Atlanta area.

 

THE NEXT BIG THING IS HERE

Over my 18 years of training I’ve learned one crucial fact – if most people (i.e., people like me) want to be cut/defined/toned/etc., then their workout regimen HAS TO INCLUDE cardio, AND, most people HATE to run, climb stairs, ride a stationary bike, etc. (i.e., cardio)!

It’s that hatred of cardio that keeps many of us from achieving our own optimum level of fitness (both physically and visually).

But…

What if there was something like cardio but better?

What if there was something that engaged both our body + mind while burning more calories than a five-mile run in less the time?

And, what if that something was fun?

Well, I think we know what would happen if there were such a thing…we’d all be in the best shape of our lives.

NOTHING’S NEW BUT WHAT’S FORGOTTEN…OR NEW TO YOU

So, what’s the “NEXT BIG THING IN FITNESS?”

Well, it’s nothing new really.  As a matter of fact it’s been around for years –

The UFC may not be new, but its Gyms are, and I personally think their timing couldn’t be better.

You see, for the last few years it seems like everyone is getting a little bit tired of traditional weight lifting.  From Beachbody to L.A. Fitness to CrossFit, the era of Schwarzenegger is long gone and in its place…a more holistic approach to fitness.

Be it that everything these days is about functional or total-body fitness, mixed martial arts classes fit perfectly into anyone’s current routine.

 

MORE THAN JUST STRENGTH TRAINING

A UFC Gym class involves more than just  strength training – it involves you…all of you!

From your balance to your focus to your breathing, each class requires you to put in 110%.  Yeah, it might seem like a bit much at first (much like taking your first choreographed dance class) but, if you stick with it a few times, you’ll realize you’re gaining more than tight abs – you’re gaining coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, and, most importantly, self confidence.

 

SO WHY UFC GYM PERIMETER?

So, with a plethora of gyms and home-workout videos why would I be suggesting the UFC Gym experience over the others?

Last week UFC Gym Perimeter invited me to partake in a class and their gym experience.  After spending a few hours using the gym, interviewing the owner, and meeting and seeing the team interact with gym members I have nothing but good things to say about UFC Gym Perimeter.

From the killer warm up, to the boxing lesson, to the ab routine at the end, I must say the classes work.

FYI – you know you’re scorching calories when your sweat is hitting the punching bag before your fists do.

So, would I personnally recommend UFC Gym Perimeter to family and friends….?

In a word, YES!

TOP 5 REASONS TO JOIN A UFC GYM 

 

Reason 1 : Motivation

Some people just do not like to workout at home or simply cannot find the motivation to do so.  Be it paying the Gym membership fees, having a workout partner you can’t let down, or simply being part of a fitness community, a Gym membership can motivate most people (on many different levels) to stick to a workout regimen.

 

Reason2: Smaller Gyms Are AWESOME!

UFC Gym is a smaller, more intimate Gym.  This has a number of pros ranging from a cleaner facility to less people to contend with for weights/machines to a smaller chance of having to deal with the gym socialite.  The “gym socialite” is that guy who goes to the gym to waste his and everybody else’s time.  So, even if your UFC Gym has the gym socialite, you’ll probably know him well enough to tell him to shut the hell up and let you workout.

 

Reason 3: The Owner Believes In Fitness, People, and Change

After talking with UFC Gym Perimeter’s owners, I realized they are the real deal.

Eric Williams, one of the owners, said all the right things when it came to fitness, supporting his patrons, and changing people’s lifestyles one step at a time.  A very humble and engaging man who believes in everyone’s ability to change their own mind, body, and attitudes, Eric plans on creating a community of fitness in the Atlanta area via a fun-filled, empowering experience every time you step into and out of his gym.

 

Reason 4: Cardio SUCKS…but Kicking Butt Doesn’t!

Simply put, as hinted at above, most people think cardio sucks!  But ask anyone if they’d like to kick some butt and they’d probably say “Hell, yeah!”

So, if you hate running, the treadmill, the stair climber, the stationary bike, the row machine, or the elliptical, but you’d still like to kick your love handles’ butt while having a blast…then the UFC Gym experience and it’s mixed martial art classes are for you.
