TONY HORTON – A.K.A THE EXCUSE KILLER
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE P90 PREVIEW VIDEO AND SWEEPSTAKES INFO AT THE END OF THIS POST and the “P90 Is Almost Here” post to find out a bit more about the new program.
And so The Man (Tony Horton himself, The Man that has yet to steer me wrong when it comes to a better, fitter, healthier lifestyle) is at it again – taking our excuses and throwing them right back in our faces!
First it was, “An hour?! That is way too much time to workout.”
Then came P90X3, a 30 minute program that CAN change your life! A program I myself didn’t believe could work because I never believed 30 minutes a day was enough to truly sculpt and change your body…so I did it myself and, simply put, it works. If you have yet to see my P90X3 Review with Before and After Pics, check it out here.
So no more excuses right?
Nope, even with a 30 minute workout the excuses continued. “Yeah, but a P90X routine….that’s a bit too much for me…I have never really worked out…so I am a bit scared to give it a go.”
Well, guess what?
Tony’s got an answer for that too!
P90 – “THE ON SWITCH TO FITNESS”
Taking everything he has learned over the last 20 years Tony Horton has created the NEW P90 WORKOUT for the people out there who;
1. Have never worked out before,
2. Are timid to try “intense” workouts,
3. Feel like they’ve been out of the game for too long,
4. Simply want the health benefits of exercise without the grueling workout routines typically associated with a fantastic healthy, fit, and banging body.
So, no matter your age, your current level of fitness, your past experience, or your personal objectives and goals, P90 is meant to be “the on switch to fitness” that’ll help jump start the rest of your life!

Thank you Rolando. I successfully did P90 2 years ago, which was the last time I worked out. I lost 30lbs during that time. Since then, I have gained 40lbs., and weigh more now than I ever have. My knees ache, my waist size went from 36 to 40, and I hate looking and feeling this way. I am almost 45 years old now, and the thought of doing P90X or the others seems too much for me, with time and how hardcore the workouts are. In reading the description for the new P90, this sounds perfect. I can’t wait for it to come out so I can get started!

No worries Alan, though I am 32 I too have bad knees and a bum shoulder and experienced some unwanted weight gain this past year. But, nonetheless, I have no doubt that you can get back on the horse because anybody that completed P90X2 and lost 30 pounds know’s how to work hard and stay committed.
That being said, P90X3 is not nearly as tough as P90X2 nor is it meant to be – it’s a different beast all together. At the end of P90X3, though I had lost a bit of mass in my arms and back, my knees, shoulders, and overall well being were better than ever. That being said, the program is no walk in the park either…as any workout worth doing should be…Anyways, if you haven’t already done so, please check out my P90X3 review and results here.
As for P90, I am super excited about it coming out as well, but if you can not wait or are looking for something to do right now that isn’t as hard on the body as P90X or X2 then look into PiYo! I am currently doing PiYo with my wife and twin brother (who has chronic lower back pains) and I can honestly say, that even though I am a P90X, X2, and X3 grad PiYo is still pretty tough. I am actually going to be writing a review pretty soon but if you’d like some more info check out the PiYo link (at the lower-right-hand side of the site) on my Beachbody Coach page!

I’ve been waiting for this for years now….many years ago I had emailed MegaMace when news was swirling that they were going to redo this series because the original one was more of a pilot and not meant to be put into production…etc. When I would periodically email MegaMace – he kept saying that the priority was on P90X2 (at the time and then the P90X3). It’s great to see this series get an upgrade.

If I push heavy on the p90 sculpt workouts will I gain decent muscle?
How does P90 compare to X3 in terms of pure muscle building?
Last, can I add a separate yoga routine once a week to P90?

Hi Jerry,
Hope all is well and thanks for your questions.
If you were to go heavy on P90 Sculpt Workouts you will certainly gain mass. Now, by heavy I mean you should be maxing out (with good form) in the 4-6 range. So, if you find your self maxing out at around 8 (clean) reps, you should be upping your weights/resistance so that you can only do 4-6 clean reps. If you can do 4 clean then cheat on the next two. BUT, if you don’t have heavier bands or weigts then by all means MAX OUT!
As for adding a separate yoga routine, by all means do so if you’re feeling up to it!
I mean more is always better…well, not always but you get my point. In my opinion and experience yoga does nothing but help define, shape, and strengthen your body – so knock yourself out. Only thing I’d say is to make sure your not over training, but trust me your body will tell you when it’s had a little to much…as matter of fact when I’ve over trained I find that not only my body but my mind is sluggish…so as long as you’re feeling great and feeling and seeing results add the extra yoga session.
Thanks again and BEST OF LUCK!
Take care,
Rolando Rodriguez
